Bo Donaldson and the Heywoods scored one of 1974's biggest hits with "Billy, Don't Be A Hero" — a #1 smash that sold over three and a half million copies and earned a gold disc from the RIAA. Formed in Cincinnati in 1965 by teenager Bo Donaldson, the group was discovered by Dick Clark and spent years on his Caravan of Stars Tour before breaking nationally.
